Access Appeal Update May 2011 13/05/2011

Dear All,

We thought as a committee it is about time to update you all on the Access Appeal and its progress, as so many of you kindly donated to the fund.

Thanks to your help we have the funding in place to go ahead with the project and have plans drawn up ready to be acted upon. Unfortunately we have run into some red tape whereupon we need to put in additional planning applications to improve the council facility that is the pavilion, despite paying for all the work ourselves. Having asked a number of weeks ago whether we needed to go through planning, we have just heard that we do have to submit an application after continual requests for clarification.

As you may or may not know, once plans are submitted the process takes around 8 weeks, and despite the building being owned by the council (and rented by us), there is no fast-track system. We therefore have little choice but to wait for permission to be granted.

As you can probably gather the timescale is unavoidable if not a little frustrating for everyone involved at Worthing Cricket Club, but we would like to reassure you that the project will go ahead as soon as it's humanly possible.

Yours sincerely,

The Committee

Worthing CC Access Appeal Update 10/08/2010

Our target for the access to the pavilion, including the decking at the front and a stairlift inside the building for wheelchair access was £10,000.

We have raised approximately £5,500 so far, meaning that we need a bit more.

Plans are afoot, but any new ideas as to how we could raise funds are always appreciated.

If you have any ideas please send them to worthingcc@yahoo.co.uk.

This is just to reassure you that the money you all raised is poised to improve the club.

The Committee.
