About Us

Worthing Cricket Club – A Brief History

Worthing Cricket Club was formed in 1855. The ground, The Manor Sports Ground, situated close to the centre of town was a county out ground until the 1950s and boasts an impressive art deco style pavilion. The club was a founder member of the Sussex League and has been a member since its inception in 1969. The club has been able to attract such high profile former Test Match players such as Imran Khan and Paul Jarvis in the past. Worthing CC 1st XI enjoyed 3 seasons in the Premier League (2000-2003) and was playing in Division 2 until 2011 when they achieved promotion back to the Premier League, with the 2nd XI also achieving promotion to the top league in the same season. We are also members of the West Sussex Invitation League and also of the West Area Cricket Association for our thriving junior section with more and more players being called up for to representative cricket.
